New York State resident; 25 years of age;

Five or more years of law enforcement experience in New York State as a Division of Criminal Justice Services certified police officer;

Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Public Administration or related field;

Pass a thorough physical examination and a strength and agility test;

Possess a New York State drivers license with a satisfactory driving record;

Have a valid New York State pistol permit;

Be of good moral character, free from mental defects, no criminal convictions, good credit history and a satisfactory work record;

Pass an extensive background investigation.
